Accessory Icons (Part 1)

Ive been drawn to start thinking about things like marketing, the type of woman that would wear my jewellery and things like that. Being quite a nostalgic person naturally I was led to my first fsahion influence...

Blossom was my style icon a long time ago..utterly fearless with her accessories and responsible for many, many fashion faux pas of mine :-)

Samantha Jones from Satc slightly more grown up and fabulous :-) definitely a 'Miss Fluff' gal...

Hmm I wonder what other types of women would be brave enough to wear my pieces..? :-)

Hexagon Experiments

Ive been playing around with the idea of hexagons for a new series of pieces for the shop after visiting the stage in New York's Centrl Park.
Whilst taking photos of the hexagons carved out of the stone ceiling I noticed all the little intricacies and of course Im a sucker for detail..

Ive tsrtaed experimenting with shape and pattern using some paper stencils. I had no idea how much measuring would be involved and anyone that knows me knows that me and numbers are a disaster!
I've started to cut some mock-ups using cheap crappy leather but Im not sure it's going to work or look good..after all that!
But it's a process and I still have a few mnore things to try before I send this particular idea to the sin bin.

'Tiffany' Blue & Lush Leathers

How I started my day...

Have to say the new look Company is pretty good..the layout reminds me of old teenage diaries and sketchbooks. The Tiffany blue on the cover only helped draw me in of course.

Other perusals today are these...

A lovely person from Pittards Leather sent me through this fab sample book from AW 2012. It's full of gorgeous and unusual leathers and best of all has some really cool mood boards which have inspired me and helped me to organise my thoughts.
For the rest of today I'll sketch, make my own mood board and generally get inspired!

NYC Inspiration

On this miserable day in the arse-end of London Ive been looking to my photographs of beautiful New York City for inspiration for some new designs. Im thinking clean stone, cherry blossoms and blue skies..hmmm :-)
Time to get the sketchbook out...

I will post some sketches once Ive got something down on paper :-)
