Joys of Half-Term
Aah the joys of half-term break are upon us :-) Ive been doodling in my beautiful velvet covered notebook and am itching to get started on some new ideas but somehow I find myself caught up in neverending chores and childcare :-) maybe tonight when the world is asleep I shall be up in the wee hours cutting and stitching tiny bits of leather in complete beautiful silence..bliss!
I am also working on a rather exciting announcement but have to keep schtum for the time being..for today I shall leave you with a little update of my shop:

Learning On My Feet!
Hi!
Well it's been a little while since Ive done a post as Ive been busy busy filling my Etsy jewellery shop with all manner of goodies: seahorses, octopi, butterflies, delicate crawling leaf creations.
As well as trying to design and make Ive been trying to find time to promote and market my products. This side of the business I had no idea would take up so much time. Its something I have very little experience of and have found myself learning so much as I go along about branding, marketing, re-directing traffic (feel like a lollypop lady anyone?) and generally trying to drum up business :-)
Today I have been researching how to legally run a competition on Facebook as apparently they are prone to shutting down accounts with little to no notice if the rules are breached. However the rules are not clear to a layperson like me and after some 'Googling' Ive found a link which explains it clearly and concisely. Here it is:
http://bellybeyond.blogspot.com/2010/07/facebook-competition-and-promotion.html
Unfortunately it's not straightforward and I think I will advertise the comp on Facebook, re-direct people to my lovely blog and have them enter it on here so watch this space for an amazing spectacular competition heading this way soon!
In the meantime here are some pics of my recent creations:

New Horse Jewellery!
'Lo peeps,
I have just listed some fabulous equestrian themed jewellery on my Etsy site. Ive always been a fan of all things miniature and still sneak into my daughters room sometimes to play with her awesome Sindy House so its only natural that thoughts have turned to small animals.
Not sure what I'll be tackling next but for now Im throroughly enjoying pony kitsch :-)

Angels, Fairies and Childhood Whimsy...
On my unending quest for inspiration I dug out some of my sketch books the other night and had a good dig through. I found some very pretty images of angels, fairies (Im obsessed!), hearts and stars. My favourite geeky way to disengage from the world has always been a fine line black pen and a blank page and these drawings have been a wonderful way to go back into the recesses and rediscover those innocent chilled places in my mind :-)
I have started to translate these ideas into some jewellry and have updated my shop with some pretty, childlike pieces...

If you go chasing rabbits
Here we are at the beginning of another week and just this morning my daughter and I spotted the first little yellow glimpse of the tulips poking their heads through so I guess Spring has officially sprung
Ive been doodling away thinking of designs for the shop and should hopefully have some more bits to put up in the next few days but for now I shall put on 'White Rabbit' by Jefferson Airplane and leave you with some bunny goodness from the shop to welcome in this new season :-)

Leaves, Bunnies & Hearts Galore!
Been a busy bunny today :-) lots of photography and listing action in between running to the school and back and entertaining my truly nutty mum and aunt.
They have only recently discovered Etsy (through me of course) and being life-long crafters are now itching to get their wares out into cyberspace..brace yourselves!
Meanwhile I have put some beautiful necklace and earring sets in my shop. I would definitely call them statement pieces and there are 3 choices of lush buttery leathers and designs to choose from:.

Offerings for Valentines'
Being the enterprising young woman I am ;-) my thoughts have naturally turned to Valentine's Day.
I dug out some beautiful buttery soft deep red leather and have been working on some Valentine's offerings for the shop.
I fear I've left it a little late as I dont have a lot of time to 'make' for this particular holiday but if the shop is still around next year(!) then I will start much earlier.
Ive kept it simple with the usual themes of hearts and red but hopefully added my own twist.
I might try a few pieces in a brighter red leather which is from the Burberry factory and has the signature check running through..we shall see..but for now I will leave you with a few recent listings from my shop for the upcoming romantic holiday.

Purple Love!
Ive updated my shop with the last of the Purple Foliage Collection and the earrings pictured in my first post have been featured in Angela Design's beautiful treasury of all things purple yay :-)

Now that Ive updated my shop with most of my current stock my mind is turning to new designs. Ive always been inspired by shapes found in nature. I like the fluidity and effortless beauty so I have turned to one of my favourite books for inspiration - The Country Diary of An Edwardian Lady.
It was given to me when I was a little girl by my mother who knew I would love the handdrawn pictures. Its been just the thing for my new line. I am currently thinking of delicate leaves and brightly coloured flowers..I think Im subconsiously craving spingtime! :-)
So watch this space all ye who are freezing their bums off in anticipation of spring days and in the meantime I shall leave you with a newly listed something from my shop :-)
